Upgrading to ColibriPlus

This document contains essential information for current owners of the previous version of ColibriPlus, known as "ColibriSM".

What is ColibriSM?

ColibriSM is the predecessor to ColibriPlus. It was developed as a lightweight PHP script utilizing a custom-built engine without any external frameworks for backend or frontend functionality. This architecture enabled deployment on affordable shared hosting platforms with zero dependencies.

What is ColibriPlus?

ColibriPlus represents a complete reimagining of ColibriSM. It is a modern web application built on Laravel 12 and Vue.js 3.x, featuring a world-class user interface, clean and scalable component-driven codebase, and comprehensive server dependencies including Node.js, Redis, Composer, and other essential tools.

How to upgrade?

Direct migration from ColibriSM to ColibriPlus is not feasible through traditional upgrade methods. ColibriPlus requires a fresh installation due to its completely rebuilt architecture, different dependency requirements, and absence of shared codebase with ColibriSM.

Content migration

Existing content from ColibriSM, including users, posts, and other critical data, can be migrated to ColibriPlus.

While not all data types may be transferable, all essential information will be preserved during the migration process.

Migration tool

The migration tool that enables content transfer from ColibriSM to ColibriPlus is currently in development. Our team is actively working on this solution and will release it at the earliest opportunity.
